Alan holds certificate of Court of Master Sommeliers – Advanced Sommelier (AS) level, French Wine Scholar, Highest Honors (FWS), Certified Specialist in Spirits (CSS), Certified Specialist in Wine (CSW), WSET Advanced Level 3, Certified Whisky Ambassadors and Culinary Institute of America – Certificate of Professional World of Wine etc…. He specializes in food and wine matching. In 2007 he was named first-runner up in the “Hong Kong Penfolds Best Sommelier Competition” and “The Hong Kong Best Sommelier Competition”. Alan is the youngest sommelier to be awarded “Best Hong Kong Sommelier” in 2008. He competes the second-runner up in “The Greater China Best Sommelier Competition” in 2010. Alan also writes, educates, judges and speaks about wine regularly!

Award-winning Sommelier Alan Au whom currently is working as the Head Sommelier at Sinfornia Ristorante had won many accolades including Singapore Best Sommelier Competition in 2011 (ASI), 1st runner up of the 2015 Asia Best Sommelier Competition in French Wine and winner of the Provence Trophy by Sopexa. He’s also the first winner of the 2016 Ruinart Challenge held in Singapore and have been awarded the 2016 Sommelier of the Year by World Gourmet Summit.

Alan is the only Singaporean to achieve the Sommelier Diploma awarded by the Association de la Sommellerie Internationale (ASI) and has represented Singapore in two Asia Oceania Best Sommelier competition and the recent 2016 World Best Sommelier Competition in Mendoza organized by ASI.

Alan is also an Advance Sommelier whom keeps himself updated through his travels and tastings with professionals and is currently pursuing the Masters level of the Court of Master Sommeliers.

Talented and passionate, Derek was recognized as the Best Sommelier in Greater China 2015 by Sopexa Hong Kong, while he worked for Michelin-starred Italian restaurant L’Altro. He was a sommelier at Mr. & Mrs. Fox of Swire Group prior to joining Duddell’s.

Derek’s wine journey started 10 years ago when a regular brought him a bottle of Bordeaux red. His never stopped learning from then, hoping to share the interesting stories behind the wines and to explore the beauty of wine and food pairing with the guests. He is the current holder of Wine and Spirit Education Trust (W.S.E.T) Level 4 Diploma and Advance Sommelier of The Court of Master Sommeliers. (CMS)
